About Image Color Picker

Upload any image and click anywhere on it to instantly extract the exact color at that pixel — shown in HEX, RGB, and HSL formats. Hover to preview colors in real time, and build a palette of recently picked colors. Perfect for designers matching colors from photos, logos, or screenshots.

Use Cases

Matching brand colors from a logo, picking colors from a photo for a design project, identifying exact background or text colors in a screenshot, building a color palette from an image, finding the hex code of a color seen in a reference image.

How It Works

Renders the uploaded image on a canvas and uses ctx.getImageData() to read the RGBA values at the clicked pixel coordinate. The RGB values are converted to HEX and HSL using standard color math formulas.

FAQs

What color formats are shown?

HEX (#rrggbb), RGB (r, g, b), and HSL (h°, s%, l%) are all displayed for every picked color.

Can I pick colors from screenshots?

Yes. Paste or upload any PNG screenshot and click anywhere to sample the color.

How accurate is the color picker?

It reads the exact pixel value at the point you click, accurate to 8-bit per channel precision. Note that JPEGs may show slightly different values from the original due to compression artefacts.
