About Add Header & Footer to PDF
Add a custom header (top of page) and/or footer (bottom of page) to every page of your PDF. Set different text for the header and footer, choose left, centre, or right alignment, and customise the font size. Great for adding document titles, company names, confidentiality notices, or date stamps to all pages at once.
Use Cases
Adding a company name or document title to the header of every page, stamping "CONFIDENTIAL" in the footer of sensitive reports, adding date and version info to document headers, inserting a website URL or copyright notice in the footer.
How It Works
Uses pdf-lib to draw your chosen header and footer text at the top and bottom of each page at the position and size you specify. The modified PDF is downloaded to your device without any server upload.
FAQs
Can I add different text to the header and footer?
Yes. The header and footer fields are independent — enter different text in each, or leave one blank to skip it.
Can I include the page number in the header or footer?
Use the dedicated Add Page Numbers tool for numbering. The header/footer tool is for static text only.
Will the header or footer overlap existing content?
The header and footer are placed in the margin area (within 30pt of the top/bottom edge). If your PDF has no margins, the text may overlap content — consider adding a margin first.
